The Monkey squat (deep squat) is an intro exercise to martial arts leg strengthening flow. It’s simple to approach and develops great overall awareness of how you utilize your strength from the feet up. Do them at a pace that is neither too fast nor too slow. The slowness of the movement allows you to develop awareness of your movements and notice where their may be bridges that need to be reconnected. Done consistently with proper alignment of body and breath, this exercise will strengthen the leg and back muscles as well as develop strong connectivity through all the ligaments and tendons used.
Learn all the finer points of alignment then when you are comfortable to do it without the video just set a timer for 5 min and do them on your own at least once or twice a day.

Monkey Climbing is the second part of the flow. It’s it designed to develop leg coordination, balance and strength. These exercises are great for developing mobility and developing foundational strength through the feet. Continue to observe how you are using your feet, your knees and your hips. Try to stack them in a way that doesn’t create tension in any direction. Everybody has different levels of mobility, so look at yours most closely and observe from the inside out how to develop an efficient movement pattern.
Take your time and practice at a pace that again is not too fast nor too slow.

This is the third movement of the flow. It’s a front and rear leg extension. Don’t worry to much about how high you get your leg. Move with your body and don’t force the stretch. You want to get a full extension in the leg in the forward and rear positions but you don’t want to give up quality of movement just to do so. Meaning only extend bring your leg as high as you can while being able to extend it fully. If that means only knee height that’s fine. It not about how it looks, its about how it feels in your body.
Take your time learning it, coordinate you breath and enjoy the exploration.
